Hi, I'm Rosanna and I am the proud grower of Flautino Music School! My love of music started when I was a wee one and would listen to records with my dad on Sunday afternoons. I was then really lucky to have private recorder, piano and cello lessons out of school, and carried on my love into university and music college. After a couple of years working at The Sage Gateshead, I decided it was time to go it alone, and the seed of Flautino Music School was born. I started off as a travelling teacher and then in 2016 moved to Lanchester community centre in County Durham. Since then we've grown from a handful of stuents to 35 chuldren and adults, as well as a few children with learning difficulties who have one to one music therapy sessions.
I teach piano very much as a starter instrument... it is the ideal instrument to learn lots about how music works. I also teach recorders to teenagers and adults (because who can cope with kids playing recorder, right?!), as well as teaching recorders at Durham and Newcastle universities.
Right now we're working on starting up a junk music project in Lanchester ... watch this space!
