who i am

I grew up in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and began playing the recorder at primary school along with everyone else. However unlike everyone else, I never grew out of it!

I studied for a music degree at King's College London from 2001 to 2004 whilst studying recorders at the Royal Academy of Music and later the Royal College of Music with Peter Holtslag, Daniel Brüggen, Ashley Solomon and Julien Feltrin.

After a year of giving concerts in London in 2005 (during which time I played for the unveiling of a Yoko Ono art installation at St Paul's Cathedral) I returned to my roots to set up Flautino. It's my dream job and I feel so lucky to be able to do what I love everyday.
